Lucie Horsch performs 'Sweet' by Louis Andriessen
Dutch composer Louis Andriessen passed away on the 1st of July 2021. In honour of him, I am sharing this live performance with you of his piece 'Sweet', which he composed in 1964 and dedicated to the Dutch recorder player Frans Brüggen. The piece is written for treble recorder and tape. The music starts out seemingly peaceful and sweet, but the atmosphere becomes more and more distorted, until ...

Lucie Horsch and Thomas Dunford at Concertgebouw

This live performance was recorded by BR Klassik last September in the Small Hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. First you hear a prelude by the French composer Jacques-Martin Hotteterre as an introduction to the Sonata in d minor written by Anne-Danican Philidor. Since I have this UA-cam channel now, I decided to start posting a few more videos on it. Let me know if you like the video and ...

Can you post the Marais version of Faronell's Ground that you played at this concert?
Her tone is so beautiful, my gosh!
Thanks...
Enkeltrik betrüger
I think mateo mancuso and lucie should get together
I wonder if Lucie and Michaela compare notes? Just kidding!
@luciehorsch4454 Great playing Lucie, as always! However, since you have grown to be a young woman now, you might consider to stop dressing in a "broekpak" and start trying something more representative, a concert dress or gown would befit you well ... Or are you making a statement perhaps? Otherwise, I really like how you make the silhouette of the Doelen Organ (a huge box of flutes & more) loom behind you in that spooky violet light ...
Prelepa glasba.
simply Great…Lucie…👍🏾👋🤓👏👏👏👏👏💪🏾❤️
Wunderbar!!! Lucie, Du bist einfach die beste! ❤
Lucie you are the bach of the recorder
How about Coltrane’s Giant Steps?
Bach + Bruggen +Horsch 😊
Did she break the mic at 5:39
Fantastic piece and performance! Lucie, you are an incredible player!
Lucie i love
Is beautifoul
Eccezionale!!!
Has anybody noticed that she does not close the holes, especially for the left hand, with the tip of her fingers, but lower down? It is more visible on other videos, and with bigger recorders, I think. I wonder why she does that. Especially the index and the middle left finger. She also demonstrates an incredible control of her breathing! Bach is known for not minding that you play a wind instrument, or sing! There is often no place for breathing!
It’s kind of halfway between a piper’s grip, which I know is more common on the tin whistle, and a standard recorder grip. I imagine it’s used because of increased feeling over control (at the expense of flexibility of movement). And yeah, I’ve watched this video many times and it’s easy to miss how seamless the breathing is. Just an incredible performance overall. I was surprised to see today that she’s still performing the piece at this venue (just a few days ago). I’d absolutely kill to see this live!
Is that the NBS?
Harika, bayıldım, tebrikler
who the heck thought the recorder was a good instrument to give to children? All it does is give it a bad name.
Lucie 😍My Hero
Luv to see her sit in at a jazz club in NYC!
1 leg lifting for which purpose, please anyone tell me
Done to cover the bottom hole and achieve specific notes.
Aynen... Demistim "bu olur" diye :)
Fantastic! Lots of love from Brazil
Wonderful, in many ways reminiscent of Frans Brüggen´s own performance ua-cam.com/video/WjMeXlfRf18/v-deo.html from many years go, televised from the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, where he was sitting (cross-legged as always) in front of "his" Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century: nonchalant, elegant and unforgettable in an unmatched display of innate musicianship ... Bravo Lucie, Frans would have been very proud of you!
Just for the record. Bach wrote BWV 1053 in 1738 for the harpsichord, but it has proved adaptable and has been transcribed and performed over the years on a piano, organ, and oboe, and now on a recorder. Beautiful performance.
Bach would be very proud and pleased with this Performance. Amazing!!!!
Lucie is one of the greatest artists I've ever heard to play .
this is magnificient
I love her playing here as well but it's weird how I found the lower vid quality recording uploaded by Caspar Horsch to have a much better sound...
I should have said lower production quality rather than vid, the vid seems high quality there as well, something is off about the sound in this one...
❤❤❤
Doesn't matter, Recorder is still a joke. The real king of wind instrument and the entire orchestra is the OBOE.
A delightful, amazing performance ua-cam.com/video/VREGC4VNc3M/v-deo.htmlsi=DD86etq1Hj7kFX_v
Wow great playing and so beautiful too. Maybe playing sounds so bad now haha
Brilliant!
What is the piece in D# minor? In 1:50
That was lovely, Lucie. Even now that we are long past the shut-downs (hopefully). Thank you so much for your time and effort. I really enjoyed it.
Love U true style, meanwhile the beauty you perpetuate by your interpretations and your own beeing!
Lucie horsch you are fantástic .congratulations from Brazil.
Fantastic musician. Makes you smile .
___Grato, Lucie!___
I miss when the score was on youtube😔
